The Pancretan Forum (B2B meetings) was the touchpoint event for gathering the stakeholders forum.ebeh.gr. The Forum is an institution formed by Heraklion chamber and is thriving for the last 8 years bringing together the local producers with the hoteliers. The local stakeholders offer culinary experiences in several different topics e.g.

• Collecting and cooking Cretan vegetables
• Presenting local recipes that promote the Cretan diet offered by “Cretan Hands”
• Wine tasting routes
• Olive collecting and tasting

One of the main issues the stakeholders face is that the products they promote are being promoted by non - skills staff as these people are mostly local producers who have not received enough training to deliver high-quality services demanded by the international tourists. Another serious issue is that they have a severe price fluctuation as the experience is not formed by a specific standard, so It is difficult to compare between similar products under the same name which result to completely different culinary experiences.  Although there is a variety of culinary experiences based on local products, these are offered in isolation and there is no common understanding that they need to be standardized and follow certain “rules”. After the implementation of B2B meetings, TIHC MEDFEST team and Tourism Stakeholders met in order to implement the “Common Local Cretan Culinary Services and Experiences Guide” in order to eliminate the above issues

• the first objective was to ask the stakeholders to identify the contents of the services they are offering,
• the second objective was to create a common culinary experience description table

Based on that, TIHC MEDFEST team and the stakeholders will create a gastronomy tour. The culinary tour will take place in the mainland of Heraklion. In this culinary experience, all the MEDFEST stakeholders will participate in order to implement and improve the “Common Local Cretan Culinary Services and Experiences Guide”.
