Map of MED culinary heritage experiences
GIS ON SUSTAINABLE CULINARY EXPERIENCES
The geo-database is the backend system that allows the architecture of the map to be constructed. It is programming language which translates data into the map image, allows interactivity, displays information about the experiences and allows you to navigate through the map.
Each partner inputs data about their experiences to the SCHEMA file which is then pulled out by the backend system and displayed in the user interface. Not all information contained in the file is visible on the map because not all of it is relevant to the users.
The relevant information for the geo-database is: name of experience (in English and in national language), social networks, geographic coordinates, address, type of experience (date of publication, keywords), information about the experience (description, context), audience, organisation and local authority, systems of certification, relationship to politics and strategies (skateholders, sustainability).
